The world is alive but I don't need to share it, ya, I'm Good
The other morning I was in my kitchen looking out the window into the backyard drinking coffee. I don't have any homes behind me, just a protected greenspace.
A Barring Owl was sitting on my fence, the biggest owl I've seen here locally. He stared at me once I opened my blinds. Beautiful bird and I was able to take a photo. Then moments later, flew away.
Various birds soon appeared and flew away. Took another photo.
A couple of squirrels skipped through my yard. Took another photo.
An outdoor cat gained some confidence and came into my yard after jumping down from the fence. She decided to rest on my stairs in the shade away from the sun. A few minutes later, she left. Took another photo.
I've been watching her for weeks now, she was pregnant recently and used to only walk on the other side of the fence. She seemed to give birth and is back to her old energetic self jumping fences and slimmed down. I don't know which neighbour owns her, she does have a collar.
Other days I see racoons and coyotes and rabbits. The world seems to keep going in my backyard and these critters adapt to the changing neighbourhood. They settle in and make their visits in my yard. It's a cool experience that is mine. I don't need to share it online on social media for likes and comments.
Not everything is meant to go online. Photos can be for yourself, memories for you to reflect on one day in the future.
I back up the new photos to my local NAS and no cloud service needs to see them. I get on with my day.
